The Stunning National Cathedral

One of the tallest structures in Washington D.C. the impressive National Cathedral rises as a prominent landmark in the nation’s capital. The architecture is Neolithic and this cathedral is sixth largest in the world. A true spiritual resource, people of all faiths are welcomed. The nation’s sanctuary provides a haven for the United States in times of peace and sorrow.

An Episcopal church started in 1893 when President Theodore Roosevelt and a gathering of more than twenty thousand people were present when the foundation stone was set.Check out this link here. The official name of this stately house of worship is Cathedral Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul. All funding for the facility is through the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation and many generous donations to the fund.

Located on at the intersection of Wisconsin and Massachusetts Avenues, the cathedral is open every day of the year to visitors. The requested donation for the tour is five dollars. Looking at a current schedule will give a listing of special evening events, especially during major holiday seasons, and times of worship services. All cathedral programs and services are open to the public. Whenever people are visiting in the D.C. Area, this cathedral is worth visiting.
